Ludwig KÜHN (Nuremberg 1859 - 1936) "Frühling und Winter" Original etching from a subject by Walter Firle (Wroclaw 1859 - Munich 1929) dated 1887, printed and published in Berlin by the publisher Felsing in the same period. Beautiful specimen on thick heavy paper, with large margins and in perfect condition. Ludwig Kuhn was a genre painter and was part of the German post-impressionist movement, as a graphic designer he produced about one hundred and ten works interpreting both the subjects of the ancient masters and those of his contemporary painters. Walter Firle was artistically trained in Monaco where he spent most of his life, he visited the Netherlands and Northern Italy for study, in particular Lake Garda; his painting was mostly dedicated to genre subjects but at the end of his career he had excellent results also in portraiture. Bibliography: Grieb "Nurnberger Kunstlelexicon" Munich 2007 pages 862 and 863.
